Going Natural...without the big chop?

Hi ladies!!

So I am a fresh fresh newbie to the NATURAL world! I haven't had a relaxer in two months. I wanted to know if it is possible (or suggested) to go natural without having to do the "big chop". I plan on wearing "natural looking" weaves such as Bohemian Bohyme hair during the first couple months just till my hair gets to a certain length. This is also to hide the transition. My hair would be all natural,
