Why do I have white spots on my nails?

Why do I have white spots on my nails?

I know that it is related to a zinc deficiency... but I eat plenty of foods with zinc..... how can this be???

I have mostly personally observed some spots on various persons hands. I explain about my own nail, sometime when I over exercised or taking fasting I see white spot appear on my nail. After having balance food, it is disappeared gradually. I quote
